Home About Us Message From Father Jean Baptiste
From the Desk of Fr. Jean Baptiste
It has become apparent that there is a great need for a Youth program to be established here at St. Joseph Parish. So I have appointed Tara Hall Smith to become the new Youth Director affective August 1st. I am also planning to add a 6PM Mass for the Youth starting this September. So please join me in welcoming Tara Smith to our Parish Community.
Here are some thoughts from Tara herself...
Dear St. Joseph Parishioners,
It is with great excitement to announce that I will be serving our parish as the Youth Director. Teaching, counseling and encouraging young people have always been an important part of my life. I have had the privilege of meeting and building relationships with so many families here at St. Joseph over the years as a teacher, parent and alumni.
Although this position is new to me, through my children, students and alumni of St. Joseph and Pope John Paul II, I have been inspired to serve the youth. I have revisited my experience of encountering Christ as a youth by serving as an Adult Leader for SEARCH through the Nashville CYO. I assisted Jennifer Rodgers in helping organize and lead Encounter, Survivor and Life Teen retreats.
I will be attending Youth Leadership Workshop in July with several students from our parish and other parishes within our Diocese. I am looking forward to providing many opportunities for our youth to deepen their faith, get connected to parish life, engage in various fellowship and social functions, retreats, service opportunities (within the parish and wider community), youth conventions and rallies.
I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to empower young leaders in our parish community.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
Tara Hall Smith
