Sunday Morning Scripture Study

Bible1aSM

During the month of June

Psalms thirty-nine THROUGH fifty

The focus of the Sunday Scripture Class ends Book One, known for its many weeping and moaning laments, with psalm forty-one and begins Book Two of the Psalter, known for its large number of descriptive praising God and of rejoicing, with psalm forty-two through fifty.

Words to Remember:

Psalm 39: “Turn your gaze from me, that I may find peace before I am no more.”

Psalm 40: “I have not hidden your saving help within my heart, I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your mercy and thy faithfulness from the great congregation.”

Psalm 41: “Happy the man who considers the poor and the weak.”

Psalm 42: “I acknowledged my sins to you, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord’; then you forgave the guilt of my sin.”

(Mercy Psalm) Psalm 43: “O taste and see that the Lord is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him!”

Psalm 44: “In God we have boasted all the day long; your name we will praise forever.”

Psalm 45: “I will cause your name to be praised in all generations; therefore the peoples will praise you for ever and ever.”

Psalm 46: “I have not hidden your saving help within my heart, I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have concealed your mercy and thy faithfulness from the great congregation.”

Psalm 47: “All peoples, clap your hands, shout to God with shouts of joy!”

Psalm 48: “O God, we ponder your love within your Temple.”

Psalm 49: “In his riches, man lacks wisdom: he is like the beasts of the field.”

Psalm 50: “Blessed is he who considers the poor! The Lord delivers him in the day of trouble; the Lord protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land; you do not give him up to the will of his enemies. The Lord sustains min on his sickbed; in his illness you heal all his infirmities.”
