Psalms Three Through Fourteen ~ During the months of February and March, the focus of the Sunday Scripture Class will be on the first twelve Psalms of Book One of the Psalter. Psalms numbered three through fourteen are largely individual or communal laments composed by David during his flights from his enemies, King Saul and his sons. Psalm eight is an exception to this, since it so wonderfully joyful!
Words to Remember:
Psalm 4: “in peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you, O LORD, alone make me dwell in safety.”
Psalm 8: “O LORD our Lord, how majestic is your name above all the earth!”
Psalm 9: “The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in time of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you..”
Psalm 12: “Because the poor are despoiled, because the needy groan, I will now arise, says the LORD.”
