Worship and Spiritual Life Committee
Alongside the Pastor, the committee plans and provides spiritual development of parishioners through liturgical celebrations, prayer experiences, and programs for spiritual enrichment. This committee consists of the Pastor, Associate Pastor, Deacon(s), and staff members who work together to provide a climate in which all parishioners may discern their Christian vocations. For more information, please contact Father Rev. John Baptiste, pastor at 615-865-1071.
Altar Linens
Our service to the parish provides clean linens for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and other liturgical services. Currently there are six women, who rotate weekends. On your designated weekend, you pick up the linens in the sacristy after the mass you attend and then clean them according to guidelines established. A handout will be provided for instruction and training. Washing and ironing them can usually take between 2-3 hours. It is critical we return them the following weekend before the 8:30am mass to avoid running out of clean linens. All are welcome to join this wonderful group who will easily switch weekends with you if you are unable to do it on your assigned weekend. For more information, please contact Pam Jackson at 620-506-8305.
Altar Servers
The Altar Servers Ministry provides young men and women with the opportunity to learn more about their faith and to begin to build a foundation of evangelization and stewardship by serving at Mass and other liturgical functions. The Altar Server assists the clergy so that the liturgy can be conducted with grace and reverence. Servers embrace the quality of the celebration for the whole assembly by giving the Priest and Deacon freedom of movement by ensuring that all requisites for the celebration are available at the appropriate moment and by being an active participant in the sacrifice of the Holy Mass. Any young man or woman from the 4th grade and up who wants to become a St. Joseph Altar Server is required to complete two Sunday afternoon training sessions and two weekday training sessions is serving school masses.
