Dear Parishioner,
I hope you are enjoying your summer and spending time with family and friends. We are blessed to have many dedicated servant volunteers on our Leadership Committees and ministries who work tirelessly to ensure our Parish has the financial and spiritual support to continue ministering to our Parish and neighbors about the word of God. With their dedicated service and your continuing contributions, St. Joseph Parish continues to grow and thrive.
Because of widespread parishioner support St Joseph for calendar year 2018, St Joseph received $760,293 from 468 different parishioners to cover church operating expenses; and an additional $130,140 combined for all “Second Collections” (parish charity, building & maintenance, etc).
In 2018-19 we were able to use your generous donations to complete the following projects:
As the St. Joseph Parish continues to grow and thrive and our building ages, we must adapt to the needs of our community. In last summer’s Financial Brochure, one of our capital campaigns for 2020 was to make St. Joseph Church more accessible for all of our parishioners with the construction of a new handicap ramp in the front of the church and a new set of doors and curb in the back of the sanctuary. I have heard from many of you that increasing the accessibility for everyone is of the upmost importance.
We must ask for your financial support for our new Handicap Ramp Fund to offer full accessibility to our worship space so all of our parishioners and guests who come to St. Joseph feel welcome. Please consider donating to this necessary project and make sure to continue to fulfill your annual pledges to St. Joseph.
There are a few easy, safe and efficient ways for you to give. Regular contributions can be put in the white envelopes, marked as “Parish Sacrificial Giving” and placed in the offertory collection basket. You may also give online www.osvonlinegiving.com/1420 by checking the “Church General Operations/Mass Collection” box. If you have any questions about your giving options, please contact Rebekah Kent or Rita Shade at (615) 865-1071. Your donations are tax-deductible.
As I begin my third year at St. Joseph, I again want to let you all know what a privilege and honor it is to serve this community. Thank you again for your continuing support and commitment to the spiritual and financial growth of your St. Joseph Catholic Parish.
With love and gratitude,
Fr. Jean Baptiste
Many generations of families have been nurtured at St. Joseph over the years, and we continue to grow and to thrive.
We are thankful for our growth and for the church building and other facilities we enjoy. We are mindful, too, that we must ensure that everyone who wishes to be a part of our community is able to do so. Ensuring that our church is accessible for everyone is an important component in welcoming all parishioners and guests.
The parish is therefore beginning a new capital campaign to make our church wheelchair accessible.
This will involve removing stairs and other impediments to those with limited mobility, building access ramps to our entrances, and installing both guard- and handrails to ensure the safety of parishioners and guests who utilize the ramps.
This work is projected to cost $128,000 and is expected to take six weeks to complete once capital funding is available.
I ask that you prayerfully consider contributing to the Handicap Ramp Fund to ensure that we may welcome everyone who seeks to worship with us.
How Can I Help?
Our goal has always been to upgrade our campus, our processes and training to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for this next generation. Keeping schools safe allows children to look forward to being in an encouraging environment that promotes social and creative learning. Thank you to all who participated in this project. Your generosity is appreciated.
